About Romy McCloskey

Originally from Connecticut, Romy McCloskey was born to a family of artists and entrepreneurs. While attending Westover School in Middlebury, Connecticut she apprenticed under a known women’s wear designer at his country home. It was there, surrounded by luxurious fabrics, water-colored textile designs and blooming gardens that she was introduced to the complex art of creating beautiful clothing from conception to final production. At age 13, she knew that design was her true path.

Following Westover, Romy moved to New York City, spending time working hands on in the garment industry where she was exposed to the business side of the fashion world.

In the mid 1990’s she traveled to Savannah, Georgia, where she attended and graduated from The Savannah College of Art and Design, earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in fashion design. Shortly after graduation, Romy returned to New York City where she worked designing womenswear.

She now resides in The Woodlands, Texas. Her studio is filled with colorful fabrics which she uses to make one of a kind, couture dresses and gowns for her clients worldwide.
